Two men have been arrested after allegedly stealing multiple items from a business on Red Arrow Highway.

Van Buren County Sheriff Daniel E. Abbott reports that deputies were called to the 67000 block of Red Arrow Highway on Friday morning following a report of a theft in progress. The property owner notified authorities after reviewing security camera footage showing two individuals entering the property and removing a welder, metal poles, and various wiring.

Deputies were able to identify and locate a suspect vehicle nearby. During a traffic stop, the stolen property described by the victim was recovered, along with additional items taken from a nearby power company work site.

Interviews with the suspects revealed that both had participated in the thefts. The men, a 57-year-old from Benton Harbor and a 62-year-old from Coloma, were arrested and lodged in the Van Buren County Jail. They face charges including larceny from a building, larceny, receiving and concealing stolen property, and trespassing.

Sheriff Abbott noted that the quick cooperation between the property owner and deputies played a key role in the prompt recovery of the stolen property and the arrests of the suspects.
