Heather Kelley, a mom of eight from Portage, remains missing more than a month after she disappeared. WOOD TV reports Stephen Martin, the father of Heather Kelley’s children, says she was dating a man who had a criminal record, including a murder for hire plot, at the time she disappeared. Portage Police Lieutenant Joe McDonnell says he hasn’t spoken to her family about that. He says her vehicle was found the day after she disappeared.
“The vehicle was located by the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Department, in their jurisdiction, partially burned,” McDonnell said. “That vehicle was seized and is currently being held by the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Department with their lab personnel.”
McDonnell says a person of interest is under arrest in Heather’s disappearance. However, he says the person was arrested on unrelated charges.
