Strong sales of pickup trucks and SUV’s helped fuel a $4 billion third quarter profit at General Motors. CEO Mary Barra says there is uncertainty going forward. But, she feels, even with rising numbers of COVID-19 cases nationwide, they can keep their plants running.

“When the protocols are followed, we don’t have facility spread, so we actually believe our people are safer when they’re at work following the protocols,” said Barra.

GM made $4.4 billion pre-tax here in North America. That’s the number that profit sharing is based on.
