West Michigan’s lowest gas prices are in South Haven, where prices are down to 97¢ a gallon. Triple-A Michigan’s weekly survey finds the Benton Harbor/St. Joseph area has the third lowest prices in the state at $1.45, while Grand Rapids and Flint are tied for the lowest at $1.41. Statewide, the average is down by 6¢ a gallon from last week to $1.47, which is a drop of $1.37 a gallon in the past year. Prices are falling due to a sharp drop in demand as people stay home because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
