There’s a vacancy on the Van Buren County Board of Commissioners.
The county administration says due to the death of Chair Randall Peat this month, the board must fill the seat representing District 5, which includes Waverly and Paw Paw Townships, the Village of Paw Paw, and part of Antwerp Township.
The board of commissioners is requesting applications to be submitted no later than 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4. It will discuss the applications at its regular Committee of the Whole meeting on Tuesday, March 10.
The application can be found at the Van Buren County website and must be submitted online.
The appointment will be until a successor for Peat is elected at the November 3, general election.
