NFL – Lions offensive tackle Taylor Decker says he plans to return for 11th season
Detroit Lions offensive tackle Taylor Decker has decided to return for an 11th season. Decker announced his plans Tuesday on social media. The 32-year-old endured a shoulder injury for much of last year and acknowledged after the season that he was considering retirement. The Lions gave Decker time to make the call, but they wanted to avoid the timing that affected their plans on the offensive line last year when four-time Pro Bowl Frank Ragnow retired in June.

The Las Vegas Raiders are planning to keep star edge rusher Maxx Crosby despite the trade talk around the five-time Pro Bowl pick. Crosby has been rehabilitating from left knee surgery he underwent three days after the regular season ended. Crosby said earlier this month he doesn’t want out. His future with the club that drafted him in 2019 became a subject when he was placed on injured reserve with two games left against his wish.

FIFA – Cartel violence fuels doubts about FIFA World Cup games in Mexico
The violence that followed the killing of a cartel leader in Mexico is fueling fears that the bloodshed could hurt tourism ahead of the FIFA World Cup later this year. Maria Dolores Aguirre’s corner store has lived off the tourism that flows into her cobblestoned town of Tapalpa in the mountains of Mexico’s state of Jalisco. Then the Mexican army killed the country’s most powerful drug lord Sunday just a few kilometers from her home. The killing sparked a surge in violence and put the country on edge. Now Aguirre and others are worried that the clashes between the cartel and security forces will hurt their livelihoods.
