1909 The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) was founded.

1931 Dracula, starring Bela Lugosi, opened in theaters. It was based on the 1924 stage play Dracula, which was adapted from the 1897 novel Dracula by Bram Stoker. It was the first sound film version of the classic character.
1976 – “Taxi Driver” premiered. Martin Scorsese’s classic film starring Robert De Niro and featuring the famous “You talkin’ to me?” scene.
