The Greater Niles Chamber of Commerce will hold a panel event on Wednesday, December 3 for business leaders from around Southwest Michigan to discuss the latest economic trends and learn about what could be coming.

The Southwest Michigan Regional Chamber’s Sarah Spoonholtz tells us the State of the Economy Breakfast will provide insights into the economic forces shaping the state and the region. They’ll have two panels.

“The first one is going to be a state and regional outlook featuring Wendy Block with the Michigan Chamber, Jonas Petersen of Southwest Michigan First, and our fearless leader, Arthur Havlicek, the Southwest Michigan Regional Chamber, our president and CEO,” Spoonholtz said. “Then our second panel is going to take up more of a local look, and that’s going to feature Anne Young with the city of Niles, Dan Fette with Berrien County, and Jim Ringler, the treasurer for Niles Charter Township.”

Spoonholtz says attendees will learn what to expect in the year ahead — from statewide policy priorities to major economic trends influencing business growth, workforce needs, and regional development. One topic will be housing and how the shortage can be addressed.

Tickets to the event, which will run from 7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., are available now on the Greater Niles Chamber of Commerce website.
