1948 The long play 33⅓ rpm album was created. And why is it called a record “album”. Columbia Records introduced its long play 10-inch and 12-inch 33⅓ rpm record. One side played for 23 minutes as compared to about 4 minutes for 78 records.

1977 Fleetwood Mac went to No.1 on the US singles chart with ‘Dreams’, the group’s first and only US No.1. Stevie Nicks has stated she wrote the song at the Record Plant studio in Sausalito, California, in about 10 minutes.
