Governor Gretchen Whitmer plans to continue working with the Trump Administration on several issues affecting Michigan.

Speaking to reporters in Macomb County this week, Whitmer said she has a duty to work with whoever is in the White House.

We have the threat of Asian carp in our Great Lakes,” Whitmer said. “We’ve got emergency funding for northern Michigan that we’re trying to get done. There is economic development opportunities for the state that federal partnership is absolutely essential. So there are a lot of things that are on my list that I’m going to continue to try to work on with the Trump administration.”

Asked if she’s confident about getting federal help, the governor said no. She said right now, there are no certainties.
