A Hartford man is facing charges after a drug bust on Wednesday.

The Southwest Enforcement Team says it searched a home in the 100 block of Mary Street in Hartford and found cocaine, fentanyl, methamphetamine, and crack cocaine. Additionally, it says evidence of illegal drug sales was located, along with an illegal firearm.

The 36-year-old suspect was arrested for possession with intent to deliver cocaine, crack cocaine, fentanyl, and methamphetamine. Additional charges include felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, and maintaining a drug house.

Additionally, SWET says as a result of the search in Hartford, police learned about another home in the 1500 block of North Watervliet Road in the city of Watervliet where detectives executed a second search warrant later the same day. There they found more crack cocaine, a firearm, and evidence of drug distribution.

A 35-year-old woman is now looking at charges.

SWET says each year, we lose nearly twice as many lives to fatal drug overdoses as we do to fatal car crashes in southwest Michigan. It urges anyone struggling with a substance abuse problem to contact Southwest Michigan Behavioral Health for help.
