The Region IV Area Agency on Aging will hold its 17th annual tri-county Legislative Forum on Monday, April 22.

The Area Agency on Aging says the event will provide an opportunity for seniors, caregivers, people with disabilities, and professionals working in the field of aging to engage in a dialog with state lawmakers about issues key to seniors.

The agency holds summits each year with local state lawmakers. On hand for April 22 will be state Representatives Joey Andrews and Brad Paquette, along with state Senator Jonathon Lindsey. Legislative staff for Representative Pauline Wendzel and Senator Aric Nesbitt are also scheduled to attend.

The forum will be from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the Campus for Creative Aging in St. Joseph. T

he event will also serve as a public hearing for the Area Agency on Aging’s Annual Implementation Plan. The plan specifies how federal Older Americans Act and state Older Michiganians Act funds will be spent in the next year.
