Nile Community Schools evacuated Ballard Elementary School Friday morning due to a threat.
Students were taken to Niles High School while the building was searched. It turned up no bomb, and the lockdown was lifted early Friday afternoon.
Niles Mayor Nick Shelton said the following on Facebook:
“Berrien County and spectrum hospitals’ bomb dogs have cleared the building. They will also do a grounds search once the dogs are rested. They are going to remove the lock down. FBI is assisting with an investigation of the incident.”
