Lake Michigan College is receiving a state grant to help support presentations at the Mendel Center.
LMC says the $18,000 from the Michigan Arts and Cultural Council will be used in the 2023-2024 season for shows including A Tim McGraw Tribute and Simply Queen, which is set for February.
MACC Project Support Grants help with funding the production, presentation, and creation of arts and culture that promote public engagement, diverse and excellent art, lifelong learning in the arts, and the strengthening and livability of communities through the arts. The grants must be matched by the receiving organizations.
LMC Mendel Center Director George Kendall says the grant, along with support from Mendel Center backers, “elevates the quality of life in our region through the arts and provides people of all ages and backgrounds with opportunities to learn and connect through shared experiences.”
