1972 Gene Cernan reentered the lunar module after making the last moon walk.

1986 Dick Rutan and Jeana Yeager flew the aircraft Voyager on the first nonstop around the world flight without refueling. It took 9 days.

1993 Radio City Music Hall unveiled its “Sidewalk of Stars” in New York. Liza Minnelli got the first star.

 

Music History:

1984, “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” entered the UK chart at No.1 and would become the biggest-selling UK single of all time. The yuletide song was written to raise awareness and raise funds for the famine in Ethiopia.  An all-star collective known as “Band Aid” recorded the song. Artists included: George Michael, Sting, Phil Collins, and Bono, plus members of Duran Duran, and Spandau Ballet.
