The Southwest Enforcement Team (SWET) has announced they made a couple of big fentanyl busts in Benton Harbor Tuesday.

SWET, along with Berrien County Sheriff deputies, and Michigan State Police executed two search warrants. The first at the Buss Housing Complex at 942 Buss Avenue. The second warrant was executed in the 900 block of Highland avenue. Combined, law enforcement seized more than 200 grams of fentanyl, cocaine, and drug distribution materials.

Police say among those arrested is a 35-year-old Benton Harbor man on a Michigan Department of Corrections probation violation. Additional drug charges will be sought against this individual and potentially others at the conclusion of the investigation. Michigan State Police says the names of all suspects are being withheld until their court arraignment.

Southwest Enforcement Team (SWET) is a multijurisdictional task force that has been operating in Southwest Michigan since 1981. SWET is comprised of sworn law enforcement personnel from Allegan County Sheriff’s Office, Berrien County Sheriff’s Office, Covert Township Police Department, Hastings Police Department, Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office, Kalamazoo Township Police Department, Michigan State Police, South Haven Police Department, and the Saint Joseph County Sheriff’s Office.
