More road work gets started in St. Joseph next week. Michigan Department of Transportation spokesperson Nick Schirripa tells us they’ll begin resurfacing the I-94 Business Loop and M-63 Tuesday.
“We’re going to be repaving, resurfacing about 6.5 miles of two stretches of road,” Schirripa said. “The longer stretch is the I-94 Business Loop, or Lakeshore Drive, from Glenlord Road to Central Avenue. Then the shorter of the stretches is M-3, or Niles Road, from I-94 to Midway Avenue.”
Schirripa says the project will include milling and asphalt resurfacing, drainage structure repairs, sidewalk and curb ramp upgrades, and new pavement markings. Drivers should expect lane closures and traffic restrictions during the work. The $3.5 million project will continue through November 17.
