Representatives of Berrien County government departments will be on hand at the Berrien County Youth Fair next week. Speaking to county commissioners Thursday, Berrien County Administrator Brian Dissette said the sheriff’s department, the health department, and the road department will all be there. He noted there were benefits of their presence last year.
“Last year at kind of the peak of staffing challenges, the road department did an active recruitment and ended up with a total of five equipment operators being hired because of their applications coming from visiting the fair, visiting the road department’s booth,” Dissette said.
Dissette said the sheriff’s department is always active at the fair, while the health department will have brochures and other handouts. The Berrien County Youth Fair starts Monday and will run through Sunday.
