A man arrested last year for a 1995 murder in Van Buren County has been found guilty.
Juan Luis Solis-Reyna was arrested in Mexico last October for the murder of Jose Cruz Armijo-Arreguin. The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department says Solis-Reyna fatally shot Armijo Arreguin and dumped his body in a Decatur vineyard on April 24 of 1995. He then fled to Mexico.
Solis-Reyna was extradited back to Michigan following his arrest last year with the victim’s family saying they wanted closure.
A jury trial of Solis-Reyna took place in the 36th Circuit Court last week and the jury came back with a guilty verdict Friday after about two hours of deliberations.
Solis-Reyna has been convicted of second degree murder and felony firearm. He’ll be sentenced on September 18.
