No one is hurt after a vehicle fire on I-94 in Van Buren County early Saturday. The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department says a call came in about a vehicle fire on the highway near Lawrence shortly before 1 a.m. Deputies responded to the scene and found the driver and only occupant was away from the vehicle and safe. The driver had been flagged down by other drivers who noticed heavy smoke coming from the vehicle. The driver pulled over and almost instantly flames began to show. The Lawrence Fire Department responded and put out the fire. The vehicle was removed from the scene once it was safe. Traffic was slowed and the right lane was closed while first responders put out the fire.
