A wildfire in northern Michigan is about 80% contained. Kerry Heckman with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources says it burned 225 acres in Manistee and Wexford Counties east of Copemish. About 30 people were evacuated.

“We did have some who were able to returns to their homes and others that were not, not last night yet,” Heckman said.

Heckman says the cause of the wildfire is being investigated. Heckman says the fire was burning in areas with mostly jack pine and red pine.
