The Berrien County Road Department is advising drivers the Lakeside Road Amtrak Railroad Crossing in New Buffalo Township will be closed starting Monday for maintenance work on the crossing and the tracks. Lakeside Road will be completely closed to traffic at the crossing, and everyone’s advised to seek an alternate route. The work at the crossing will take about a week, weather permitting. The recommended detour will be Kruger Road to Red Arrow Highway to US-12.
