Two 16-year-olds are in custody after a shooting in Benton Township on Tuesday. The Benton Township Police Department says officers were dispatched to the 1700 block of Roberts Avenue on a report of shots fired. They received descriptions of the suspects and a search began. The two 16-year-olds were found near Highland Avenue and Frederick Avenue, blocks from the original report. When officers approached the two, they took off running. They were bought caught after a chase and handguns were found in each of their bookbags. The suspects were taken to the Berrien County Juvenile Center. There were no injuries or property damaged in the shootings.
