The Benton Township Police Department is investigating a homicide and fire discovered on Saturday morning. It says police and firefighters were sent to a home in the 2100 block of Coolidge Avenue around 7 a.m. on a report of a structure fire. Firefighters made entry and found an unresponsive 65-year-old man inside. He was brought outside and pronounced dead at the scene. Police say circumstances surrounding the incident are suspicious and it’s being investigated as a homicide. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Benton Township Police Department.
