The media center at Upton Middle School in the St. Joseph school district will be getting a facelift. The school board approved a resolution Monday to accept a $42,970 bid from Demco Incorporated for the upgrades.

The project is being paid for through a grant from the St. Joseph Public Schools Foundation, according to District Financial Officer Brenda Graham.

The board also approved a $6 million non-voting bond issuance to be spent on an HVAC overhaul at the district’s three elementary schools.
