Police are investigating a murder at the River Terrace apartment complex in Benton Harbor. The Benton Harbor Department of Public safety says officers were called to the third floor of the complex around noon on Tuesday, January 10 on a report of an assault. They arrived to find 65-year-old Gerald Harper unconscious on the floor. He was taken to the hospital where he died of his injuries. The investigation found Harper had been involved in a lengthy dispute with his next-door neighbor, 50-year-old Aisha Tomika Williams. The argument escalated into an attack in the hallway, leading to Harper’s death. Williams was arrested at the scene. Police say she has a long history of violent behavior. She’s now charged with open murder and will be in court January 26.
