Residents spoke out, and the village listened.
After heavy pushback from citizens, the Village of Stevensville Board of Trustees tabled a resolution to move forward with a marijuana retailer application period on Monday.
Subsequently, the board unanimously approved language for a May 2023 ballot initiative that would prohibit marijuana retailers within village limits.
The actions were taken after significant pushback from an anti pot shop group “Friends of Stevensville,” which once again showed up in force to the regular meeting on Monday.
