Anyone interested in living in the new Emma Jean Hull Flats in Benton Harbor can now submit an application. Whirlpool says Emma Jean Hull Flats will be an 80-unit multi-family housing development on Riverview Drive intended for both the company’s employees and the public in general. Whirlpool Senior VP of Corporate Relations and Sustainability Pam Klyn says despite supply chain disruption, labor shortages, inflation, and weather challenges, the project is still on track to open in the spring. Monthly rents will start at $1,350 for one-bedroom units and $1,650 for two-bedroom units. Whirlpool also notes the apartment complex will reserve units for public service workers like teachers, police officers, and firefighters. All residents will be required to be permanent residents of the city of Benton Harbor for the entire duration of their lease, meaning no short-term, part-time, or vacation rentals will be allowed. The application fee is $50, and anyone interested can apply at EmmaJHullFlats.com.
