Police are investigating a murder in Allegan County on Friday. On November 4, 2022 at around 4:30 p.m. deputies from the Allegan County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to an intersection in Lee Township after a woman called saying she had just been shot in the head by her ex-husband. Upon their arrival, deputies found the woman alert, but she had in fact been shot several times. She said after being shot at a nearby home, she was able to get away to call 911.
Upon going to the residence where the shooting occurred, deputies found a 21 year old man dead of apparent gunshot wounds in the driveway. A suspect then surrendered to police and was taken into custody.
Police say there is no ongoing threat to the public. The names of those involved are being withheld until all notifications of family have been made.
