The Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Southwest Michigan is warning everyone about a scam that involves someone pretending to represent them. The club says it’s received reports of several teen boys and young adult males in the Benton Harbor and St. Joseph communities claiming to be club members and attempting to solicit donations by selling candy bars. They’re selling the candy bars for $20. The Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Southwest Michigan reminds everyone young people who are members of Boys and Girls Clubs are never asked to sell candy or fundraise in any way for the organization. If you are approached by someone selling candy bars and claiming to be with the Boys and Girls Clubs, notify police.
