The Michigan State Police are investigating a fatal stabbing at the Macomb Correctional Facility. Chris Gautz is the Michigan Corrections Department spokesman.
“On the way back from chow line, we had some level four prisoners who were returning to their unit at the Macomb Correctional Facility and one of them began to stab another on the walkway multiple times. That prisoner suffered stab wounds to the back, arm and face.”
Gautz says that man recovered, but when guards returned to the suspect’s cell, they found his roommate had been stabbed to death. Gautz says prisoners often fashion weapons out of available items but they try to search and confiscate them. They are not sure what weapon was used in this case or a motive.
