Ford saw its sales slip 9% in September, after two months of double-digit increases. Ford analyst Erich Merkel says supply problems interrupted production. Demand remains strong with 197,000 orders already for 2023 model year products.
“We’re definitely seeing strong orders for vehicles but at this point it’s a matter of being able to produce and deliver those vehicles as quickly as we can.”
For the full third quarter, Ford sales were up 16% and the company is now only a little behind it’s year to date performance at this time last year.
