The Michigan Department of Natural Resources is inviting volunteers to join in helping to rid Grand Mere State Park of invasive plants next Saturday. The DNR says everyone will meet at 10 a.m. on October 8 and work through 12 p.m. They can meet at the small parking area at Willow and Rosemary. They will remove landscape plants gone bad, like ornamentals that have escaped and are spreading in the forests and dunes. No experience is necessary as the DNR will go over plant ID before using herbicide to remove them from the park.
