
An outburst of violence over a two-block radius in Niles has led police to believe there is a connection.
The Niles Police Department announced Tuesday it believes the shooting deaths of Farries Maxwell on Aug. 16 and Raquon Glenn on Sept. 8 are related. The department are also investigating reports of up to 30 shots fired in the same area on Tuesday.
The shooting of Maxwell happened on N. 7th Street just south of Ferry Street, while Glenn was shot and killed near North Sixth and Ferry Street. Tuesday morning, Niles Dispatch received numerous calls of shots fired on Ferry St. Officers on patrol heard gunshots and responded to the area, locating over 30 spent shell casings in the roadway on Ferry St. between 5th and 6th streets.
No damage was found in the area and there have been no reported injuries from the Tuesday incident.
