There will be a volunteer cleanup event along the Kal Haven Trail this month. The Van Buren Conservation District is inviting everyone to help pick up trash September 18 near the South Haven end of the 34 mile trail that goes all the way to Kalamazoo. The cleanup event will run from 1 to 3 p.m. with volunteers meeting at the Kal-Haven Trail Sesquicentennial State Park. To take part in the event, volunteers have to register. Gloves, vests, and trash pickers will be provided. The Kal-Haven Trail is a 34 mile trail that runs between Kalamazoo and South Haven. The event is possible thanks to a grant from the Keep Michigan Beautiful Foundation. Register or learn more by calling 269-633-9052 or register by filling out a form online.
