Michigan State Police Stopping THC Testing Temporarily

Michigan State Police will stop screening for THC in blood tests of drivers suspected of being impaired. This is after admitting the longstanding testing process may have been flawed, leading to false positives. Attorney Barton Morris on folks who may have been wrongly accused.

“Putting them on notice that they have the opportunity to perhaps question their conviction or perhaps go back and fight their case.”

THC is the compound of marijuana that causes impairment, while CBD is a benign component of pot and not a controlled substance. MSP told prosecutors this week there may be 3,000 cases affected by the testing.
