Governor Gretchen Whitmer told students, teachers, and parents at Novi High School that her priorities for the upcoming school year are staff retention and improving mental health. She spoke to them Wednesday on her “Back to School” tour.
“I was really grateful that so many people of different vantage points joined us to talk about the mental health of our children, the needs of our education workforce, and public safety.”
High school senior Krisa Ramani said she is excited to get back to class without having to wear a mask and says there has been more of an effort to make school safer and help with everyone’s mental health.
