Police Investigate Hartford Township Shooting

Michigan State Police are investigating a shooting in Hartford Township on Wednesday morning. Troopers out of the Paw Paw post say it occurred in the 62,000 block of 63rd Street around 5:30 a.m. A suspect with a handgun held two people against their will in an RV and then fired multiple shots. One of the rounds grazed a 58-year-old Hartford man in the head, while the other victim, a 44-year-old Hartford man, wasn’t hurt. The man who’d been hit suffered minor injuries. The suspect was identified as a 41-year-old man who’d recently been released from prison. He was caught and arrested without incident and taken to the Van Buren County jail on charges including various firearms violations and unlawful imprisonment.
