Coming back to Buchanan this year is the Summer Concert Series. Ashley Regal with Buchanan Area Chamber of Commerce tells WSJM News they offer free concerts at The Common every summer and they always attract a good crowd.
“One of our bigger acts last year generated 1,500 people to The Common, and it was a hot day so we had kids walking in the creek to cool off,” Regal said. “It was a really great day, and we get a great turnout every year, even for our smaller events.”
Regal says the performers come from both the Buchanan area and from far away. The shows are possible thanks to support from the Michigan Gateway Community Foundation.
“We want to promote arts and culture and just the quality of life here in Buchanan.”
The performances begin June 2 with The Chippewa Project, followed June 9 with the Southshore Concert Band. Follow the Facebook page of The Common in Buchanan to stay on top of the schedule.
