1937 Margaret Mitchell’s Civil War novel “Gone with the Wind” was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for fiction. It sold a million copies in its first six months.
1973, the Sears Tower was completed in Chicago and officially certified as the World’s Tallest Building. It’s 1,450 feet and 110 stories tall. (1,730 feet tall if you count the antennas.) It was renamed Willis Tower in 2009.
1978, the First “Spam” Email was sent by a Digital Equipment Corporation on one of the predecessors to the internet, called Arpanet, which connected users on the West Coast of the U.S.
