Commencement for Lake Michigan College will be held this Sunday. LMC Vice President of Academic Affairs Leslie Kellogg tells WSJM News 398 students will receive 406 degrees and certificates from 42 areas of study, including 381 associate degrees, nine advanced certificates, and 16 certificates of achievement. She notes the medical field has become a popular one in which to earn a degree. Then there are programs specific to Lake Michigan College like winemaking and hospitality. Kellogg says last year’s commencement was drive-in style. The year before, it was virtual. How’s it feel to be mostly back to normal with an in-person commencement his year?

“It feels really good, Kellogg said. “Our commencement is the most important and celebrated day of the year at Lake Michigan College. It’s really the culmination of a great deal of hard work and perseverance and sacrifices.”

Kellogg says they’re holding two ceremonies on Sunday, one at 10 a.m. and one at 2 p.m. so some distancing can still be allowed. This is LMC’s 75th annual commencement. You can find out more at LakeMichiganCollege.edu/Commencement.
