The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department is inviting the community to take advantage of National Prescription Drug Take Back Day this month. It says it’s a chance for anyone to get rid of unwanted medications in a safe way. You can take pills to drop off sites and leave them for police to destroy. In Van Buren County, the drop off locations will be Bronson Wellness Center in South Haven and the Antwerp Activity Center in Mattawan. The date of National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is April 30 and it will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department says it’s safer to dispose of medications with a takeback day because that ensures the drugs will not be found by the wrong person.
