Congressman Fred Upton says will will not seek re-election. The St. Joseph Republican, who has served 18 terms in the U.S. House, made the announcement on the House floor. Democrat Debbie Dingell of Dearborn is good friends with him.

“To him bipartisan and compromise are not forbidden words. Fred knew well that if we are going to deliver real solutions for the American people, we need to come together and listen to all perspectives no matter how complicated the issue might be.”

Upton, who is 68, has become the fourth House Republican who voted to impeach former President Donald Trump to not seek re-election.
