This June will bring an expanded, more public OutCenter PrideFest in Benton Harbor. The OutCenter’s Gerik Nastrom tells WSJM News PrideFest last year was public and open to everyone for the first time ever, and this year, it will be even bigger, held at Benton Harbor’s Dwight P Mitchell City Center Park on June 25 from 3 to 6 p.m.

“It’s really just a time for people to come together and congregate and celebrate,”Nastrom said. “So, we have some local artists we’re working with to get art booths and local businesses as well.”

Nastrom says it feels great to see PrideFest grow.

“It is so exciting. We have been here in the community for so long, and yet there’s doesn’t seem to have been that big, visible event.”

They’ll have live music and food. The Livery will also host an afterparty at 8 that night geared more toward the adults. PrideFest will be free and open to everyone.
