Another $40,000 has been raised for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital by Y Country radio with its annual radiothon this week. Y Country’s Matt Malone tells WSJM News that was the goal. For 17 years now, Y Country has taken to the airwaves to raise money for the hospital that treats children with diseases like cancer, free of charge.
“The total amount for every year we’ve done this, we’ve raised over a half a million dollars out of all the years…Last year alone was $36,000.”
Malone tells us the work done by St. Jude benefits hospitals nationwide. He says it’s amazing to be able to make a difference, and it’s all because of the radio listeners of southwest Michigan.
