Drivers are being reminded not to crowd the plow with all the snow hitting southwest Michigan this week. The Van Buren County Road Commission has put out a list of advisories for the public to help it do its job to keep the roads clear. It says it’s important for crews to be able to plow the roads without being obstructed. For that reason, everyone’s asked not to make snow forts or tunnels on snow banks next to roads, keep away from the edge of the road as you wait for a school bus or get the mail, stay away from the end of the driveway when shoveling, and don’t try to pass a plow. The road commission notes plow drivers have limited visibility and can’t see directly behind their trucks.
