Senator Stabenow Discusses Infrastructure Spending

Senator Debbie Stabenow hosted a virtual meeting on Thursday with southeast Michigan local leaders to discuss federal infrastructure funding opportunities. She outlined where she thinks the money should go.

“Lead pipes,” said the senator. “Nobody has to tell us about the impact of lead in water and we know about the tragedy in Flint, but it is much broader than that, from that Detroit public schools and homes and other school systems and so on. We want to eliminate those lead pipes to the extent possible.”

She says protecting the Great Lakes is another priority for the state.
