A South Haven woman is running for the Michigan House in the new 38th District. The 38th House District was created by the state’s redistricting commission. It runs along the Lake Michigan coast all the way from New Buffalo to Saugatuck. Announcing her candidacy this week was Annie Brown, a former South Haven school board member and former West Michigan Regional Coordinator for U.S. Senator Gary Peters. She says she wants to represent small businesses, small towns, and farmers. Issues of importance to her are affordable housing and the needs of seniors. Brown taught preschool and she and her husband owned the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home for 20 years.
