The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services is again posting a surge in COVID-19 cases. From Saturday through Monday, there were 21,034 new cases. That brings the total to 1,209,712 since March 2020. There were 95 deaths to bring that count to 22,862.

In southwest Michigan, Berrien County has 18,203 cases and 315 deaths. Cass County has 6,572 cases and 88 deaths, while Van Buren County has 9,427 positive COVID-19 cases and 153 people have died from it.

The state has passed 70% of people 16 and older who have had at least one vaccine dose as of November 15, roughly four-and-a-half months after Governor Whitmer had wanted the state to reach that level.
