The Cass County Parks Department is planning to celebrate the fall and Halloween with a Harvest Fest. Parks Director Scott Wyman tells WSJM News Cass County 4-H is also holding its Trunk-or-Treat event at the same time as the Harvest Fest, promising an exciting afternoon for those who attend. To take place at Dr. TK Loveless Park on October 16, the Trunk-or-Treat portion of the event will be held from 3 to 4 p.m. while the Harvest Fest will be from 2 to 5. Wyman says it’ll feature food, hayrides, and more.

“We also have a Halloween egg hunt, which is unique,” Wyman said. “We have a gentlemen whose name is Arden and he brings out his little choo choo train that kids can have rides on. We have face painting, a zip line, and all sorts of cool things to do for families.”

Wyman says entry to the Harvest Fest will cost $1 per person or a donation of one canned good or a pet supply. The canned goods will be given to a local food pantry, and the pet supplies will be given to the Cass County Animal Shelter. He says the parks department has held the Harvest Fest most years for about 30 years.
